Job description

We're looking for a Local Engagement Lead to join our clinic in Slough. This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week and you will be expected to travel 4 days per week.

You will help us drive referrals in North West London and Surrey while maintaining relationships with existing referrers in the area.

You'll be highly visible within the community surrounding the OJV location, building strong relationships with local Opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCs, and community groups. You will work to directly support the growth of referrals into the service, to deliver the referral numbers required in order to achieve business targets.

Main duties of the job

Working across your designated geographical area, you'll be responsible for delivering the referral volumes needed to meet the business targets for your Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV).

You'll actively promote Newmedica services and patient choice, ensuring strong visibility within the local community. Your deep understanding of the referral landscape will enable you to build and maintain effective relationships with Opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCs, and other key stakeholders.

Acting as the main conduit between our Joint Venture Partners and the Newmedica marketing team, you'll provide valuable insights into local activity and competitor presence.

Additionally, you'll be involved in planning and organising events such as CPD sessions, optical fairs, and national seminars to further strengthen engagement and visibility.

Job responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

You will be highly visible within the communitysurrounding the OJV location, prioritising practices shared with you from theService Engagement Manager and Operations Director in areas identified duringquarterly planning. In those areas youwill build local relationships promoting Newmedica services and patient choiceto deliver referral volumes.

You will quickly build strong and effectiveworking relationships with Opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCsand local community groups as well as have a solid and practical understandingof the local referral community around the OJV service you support.

This will enable you to understand the localreferral process and its benefits to all parties and the patient, and how bestto proactively engage with the local referral community in order to support thedelivery of the referral numbers required to achieve the agreed sales andprofit plans for your OJV.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supporting the growth of OJV services:

  • Responsiblefor supporting the development and growth of referrals into Newmedica OJVservice in a designated geographical area to deliver the required referralnumbers to achieve business targets
  • To ensure there is the required mix of referrals for all servicesavailable, including a high mix of cataract referrals in order to deliveragainst the locally agreed business plans.
  • Work with ServiceEngagement Manager and Ops Director to deliver the agreed engagement plan andregularly report on number of visits taken place and quality of the visits
  • To clearly promote the benefits of the referral system and the servicesavailable at Newmedica to local referrers and, where possible, the patient.

Experience
  • Experience of promoting a service to multiple clients and on boarding new clients
  • Experience of managing and maintaining relationships with existing clients and quickly building positive, robust relationships with new clients
  • Experience of working within a clinical environment. Knowledge of NHS policy landscape and referral routes is desirable
  • Experience of working in a healthcare services environment, preferably in optics or ophthalmology services
  • Experience of developing and implementing plans to deliver targets and business growth
