A prominent football club in the UK is seeking a highly motivated Sport Scientist. The role involves providing performance support to 'On Loan' players, ensuring their physical development and successful transitions to first team football. Our Emerging Talent and Loans Team work across our Boys Academy and Men’s First Team focusing on providing performance support, helping with the seamless transition of a player’s journey from Academy to First Team and maximising the long-term development of our players out on loan.
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Sport Scientist with a strong understanding of the demands of a first team environment.
Embedded within the First Team and Academy multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you will provide dedicated performance support to our ‘On Loan’ players across the First Team and Emerging Talent pathway. You will be central to maintaining alignment and continuity of physical development, monitoring and return-to-performance standards between Aston Villa and our loanee clubs.
In this role, you will help optimise player health, availability and on-pitch physical performance to support successful loans and a smooth transition towards first team football.
To be considered for this role, you will need to hold the following qualifications / registrations:
You will be an organised, analytical and proactive Sport Scientist who is comfortable working independently as well as within a multi-stakeholder MDT across the Academy and Men’s First team. You will be able to demonstrate previous experience of delivering high quality sport science and athletic development support in a full-time capacity in an elite professional football environment, ideally in a First Team or Loans setting. Confident building relationships with staff at external loans clubs, you will represent Aston Villa’s performance standards in a variety of environments, manage multiple stakeholders whilst keeping the player’s development and availability at the centre of your work.
You must also be available to work flexibly as this role will require you to work evenings and weekends and hold a full UK driving licence.
