Role Overview

This is a role within the Syndicated Loans Agency department (within Transaction Management). The successful candidate will have be confident in their communication skills dealing with customers globally.

What you’ll do
  • Liaise with arrangers, lawyers and the originating business areas in the review and negotiation of complex draft loan / credit documentation from an operational, legal and agent’s role perspective. Provide comments, requests for amendments, and feedback as necessary.
  • Attend meetings / calls with front office personnel to ensure understanding of the responsibilities of the agent role for individual transactions.
  • Provide guidance to clients and business where required
  • Co‑ordinate with business partners in other products to arrange transactions to meet clients’ requirements.
  • Liaise with Business and external lawyers to ensure Conditions Precedent to drawings have been met
  • Prepare working summary for Agency Operations highlighting deal specific nuances.
  • Provide relevant data to enable Agency Operations to create an accurate record of all facilities in LoanIQ
  • Syndicated Loan Admin - Portfolio Servicing
  • Management of individual loan portfolio.
  • Assist Agency Operations team with the processing of non‑vanilla drawdowns.
  • Interaction with any other relevant internal departments, including Internal Legal, Compliance, Tax, Trade, Agency and Trust, where necessary.
  • Communication with Borrower, Lenders, Export Credit Agencies and other relevant parties in day‑to‑day issues / queries.
  • Receive, review and manage all waiver / amendment requests received from borrower / lenders, including actual or potential Events of Default. Negotiate on syndicate’s behalf where necessary and oversee calls and meetings with syndicate. Maintain the central record of outstanding amendments and waivers and also log all activity for the same.
  • Co‑ordinate and lead event driven calls with lenders / lawyers
  • Review and sign off of documentation and system / record updates in relation to any secondary debt trades / transfers
  • Provide guidance and assistance to junior and less experienced members of team.
  • Maintain all records, including lenders’ credit contact lists, and maintain both electronic and hard copy filing for portfolio.
What we need from you
  • Individual must have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Individual must work well under tight deadlines, manage priorities, and complete assigned tasks with minimal management follow up.
  • Candidate has quantitative skills with a high proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft based programmes
  • Experience with LoanIQ, transaction capture tools etc
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Developed analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Client relationship and solution skills
Additional non‑core qualifications which will be considered are :
  • Experience within a large global team supporting wholesale lending at large financial Institution
  • Knowledge of wholesale loan (syndicated / bilateral) product and business, including an understanding of legal loan documentation, loan / funding mechanics, deal structure, funds flows, etc.
  • Experience working with clients under time constraints to facilitate a transaction or process.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members, Senior management and other business constituents
  • Critical decision‑making capabilities including the ability to identify, elevate, and propose solutions to problems
  • Ability to multi‑task through the practice of strong organizational and time management skills with experience in continuously following‑up with various stakeholders
  • Understanding and awareness of appropriate corporate and regulatory policies in relation to Lending
  • Deep understanding of operational processes supporting Wholesale lending
  • Focus on achieving / exceeding key operating standards within a KPI / metrics driven culture
