A national healthcare provider in Scotland seeks a Prison and Custody Lead Nurse to provide clinical leadership within the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership. This role requires a Registered Nurse with a degree and recent leadership experience. The successful candidate will ensure robust systems and standards for nursing practice while collaborating with various services to ensure high-quality care. The position is full-time with responsibilities spanning across multiple facilities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior nurse to join the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership (AHSCP) Senior Nursing team in the role of Prison Custody and SARCS Lead Nurse working alongside the Prison Custody and SARCS management teams. The Prison and Custody Services are hosted within the North Partnership Location of Aberdeenshire.
Hours of work will be 37 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday with weekend on – call requirements on a rota basis as part of the AHSCP Senior Nurse on-call rota.
The post holder will work collaboratively to provide clinical and professional nursing leadership and management, ensuring professional support for the delivery of clinical services by ensuring that robust systems, policies, procedures, professional guidance, standards, training and education strategies are in place.
The Lead Nurse will work under the direction and professional leadership of the AHSCP Chief Nurse, taking responsibility for the standard of nursing practice across Prison, Custody and SARCS services in Grampian, working collaboratively with Scottish Prison Service and Police Scotland Teams across the service locations in Grampian, including HMP YOI Grampian and Kittybrewster, Fraserburgh and Elgin Custody suites. There will be a particular focus on the provision of professional workforce standards and safe, quality care.
In addition the post holder will provide AHSCP with appropriate Professional Nursing advice, guidance and leadership to inform decision making, planning, strategic and risk management and maintain expertise in clinical nursing practice, acting as hands on clinical expert in the field.
Applicants will be a Registered Nurse, educated to degree level, with experience working recently in a leadership clinical role and have the ability to work autonomously.
