Job Description:

This is your opportunity to join the procurement team of one of the UKs leading meat producers.

My client is seeking an experienced buyer with a successful track record of sheep/beef cattle procurement and established contacts within the farming community.

This role is predominantly office based, with 1-2 days a week spent on the road visiting suppliers. You will join a small team with an existing supplier network.

The successful candidate will receive a company car, bonus and a salary that reflects their experience.

The role:

  • Build and maintain relationships with farmers and suppliers
  • Negotiate purchase prices
  • Ensure consistent supply of cattle in line with procurement targets
  • Ensure livestock deliveries are on schedule
  • 3 - 4 days per week working in the office
  • 1 - 2 days per week field based

About you:

  • Excellent understanding of beef/sheep production
  • Organised and able to work under pressure
  • UK driving licence

Remuneration:

  • Competitive salary will be offered that reflects your experience
  • Company car
