A returning client of Greycoat Lumleys is seeking an exceptionally experienced, discreet, and proactive Senior Housekeeper to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of a HNW household in London. The role includes housekeeping, meticulous care of antiques and valuable furnishings, full management of household operations, oversight of contractors and maintenance, scheduling and administration, household shopping, simple meal preparation, and occasional childcare. This is a senior domestic position that requires initiative, excellent judgment, and the ability to maintain the home to the highest standards while operating with discretion and professionalism. The household consists of a couple and their two-year-old toddler, and they already employ a live-in nanny to care for the child and have a chef come in to support with private events. Additionally, the family has a dog.

Duties to include:

  • Cleaning to a high standard, including caring for antiques, artwork, luxury fabrics, silverware, crystal, and specialist surfaces using appropriate methods and natural products
  • Managing the laundry and garment care: washing, ironing, steaming, folding, and wardrobe organisation and overseeing the linen management
  • Watering plants
  • Managing household inventories for cleaning supplies, pantry items, toiletries, and consumables, and replenishing proactively
  • Maintaining a household logbook, including repairs, scheduled services, inventory updates, and weekly summaries for the principals
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for all contractors, handymen, technicians, gardeners, cleaners, and service providers
  • Conducting weekly grocery shopping and maintaining a well-stocked, well‑organised kitchen and pantry
  • Running errands, including dry cleaning, parcel management, purchasing household items, and sourcing specialist products
  • Preparing occasional simple, healthy meals according to preferences and dietary requirements
  • Managing a work bank card and keeping track of receipts for expenses
  • Providing light hosting when required (tea, drinks, simple snacks)
  • Overseeing seasonal wardrobe rotations and organisation, coordinating dry cleaning, minor repairs, and shoe care
  • Providing occasional supervision for children in the Nanny’s absence
  • Ensuring that the family dog has fresh water and basic grooming

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with high-net-worth individuals and possess a strong background in the care of antiques, fine art, and luxury furnishings. They must demonstrate exceptional organisational and time‑management skills, along with a high level of discretion, trustworthiness, and professionalism. Candidates should also have basic cooking abilities and hands‑on experience with grocery shopping and overall household management. Flexibility with regard to hours and responsibilities is essential. A warm, composed, and personable demeanor is highly valued, as is a demonstrated commitment to long‑term career stability and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
