A nurturing family in Shenley seeks a experienced nanny to care for two boys, one 5 years old and the other 12 weeks old. The role involves sole charge responsibility, cooking healthy meals, and planning engaging activities. Candidates need two years of experience, a level 3 childcare qualification, and a clean driving license. Flexible working hours include weekdays and some weekend hours, with a total of 44 hours per week. Offering £41,184 gross per annum with overtime paid at £18 per hour.
An exciting opportunity has become available in Shenley, Hertfordshire for a nanny to help care for two boys aged five years and 12 weeks. The eldest is at school, therefore the main focus will be caring for the baby, but after school and in the holidays, there will be some care of the eldest too.
Mum will be around, but she will be doing her own thing, so this will be a sole charge role. Mum likes to take an active role with the children, eating dinner with them each evening and overseeing bedtime.
The working hours will be Monday‑Friday, with three long days 10:00‑20:00 and two shorter days 16:00‑20:00. There will also be six hours required across the weekend. This makes a total of 44 hours required each week. The actual days and weekend hours are flexible to suit the nanny, and will be mutually agreed with the family. Any additional overtime will be mutually agreed and paid as overtime.
The family encourages a balanced approach to development, with plenty of indoor activities such as reading stories, singing, puzzles, and imaginative play, as well as time outdoors, including walks and trips to the park. As the baby grows, the parents are keen for him to attend activities and playdates to make friends, so a nanny who is sociable and proactive in planning activities will be ideal. The family has an annual pass to Willows Farm.
Mum will usually do the school run, as this is something she enjoys, but on occasions when she is busy, this would be required.
You will need to be a confident, careful driver with a clean licence and a fully insured car. Duty mileage will be reimbursed.
Although the main part focus of the role is on the children, you will also be responsible for some household duties. These will include preparing healthy home‑cooked meals for the baby, keeping the children’s areas organised and tidy, and helping to manage the family laundry. Any help to keep on top of the daily tasks such as emptying the dishwasher and tidying up at the end of the day would be appreciated. You should have full knowledge of weaning and potty training.
At the end of the day, you will look after the baby while Mum oversees bed and bathtime for the eldest.
