Live-In Personal Care Assistant – Weekends (Ref: ES3202) – Location: Peacehaven.
This role is to support a male client. The candidate should be a man. Driver’s licence required: Yes. Own vehicle needed: Yes.
Hours per week: 48-hour live-in shifts every other weekend from Saturday 9am to Monday 9am, plus a 24-hour shift on the 4th Saturday of each month from 9am to 9am Sunday. The role pays a minimum of £16 per hour, with a daily rate of £384, and includes 12 hours of paid holiday for every 100 hours worked. Flexibility is required — there’s the option to occasionally swap for a midweek shift if needed, and there may be opportunities to cover additional shifts during other PAs’ holidays.
You will be supporting one individual, providing 24-hour personal care, including help with all personal hygiene needs, cooking, and overnight duties — so shift work experience and the ability to stay alert and responsive during the night are essential. You’ll need to have manual handling and hoist training, along with a full driving licence. A male PA is preferred, and strong communication skills are important to support a client who has limited speech and uses alternative methods of communication.
In return, you’ll have your own room during shifts, with food shopping expenses covered, and the chance to build a meaningful working relationship with someone who values consistency, understanding, and respect.
If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.
Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
