Job description

The successful live‑in Housekeeper / Nanny must have proven experience working in a high‑net‑worth or fully staffed home and a strong understanding of working closely with parents. This role requires teamwork, discretion and a calm, professional approach to help ensure the household runs smoothly and the children’s routines are supported with warmth and care. The children already have a full‑time nanny during the week, so you will work closely with them. During the week the role will focus on housekeeping and household organisation, with weekend hours more focused on childcare and family support.

Key Responsibilities
  • All housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing, wardrobe management and household organisation
  • Helping the children with morning and evening routines, including breakfast, after‑school support, mealtimes, bath and bedtime
  • Being available to take sole charge of the children when required
  • Working with the parents to ensure smooth‑running routines and household harmony
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and duties depending on the family’s schedule (especially during weekends, school holidays or if the family are away)
  • Be experienced in a HNW/UHNW household, understanding discretion and professional boundaries, and be able to be part of the family
  • Have a kind, caring and calm personality with a willingness to "muck in"
  • Be proactive, highly organised, and able to remain one step ahead
  • Be confident working independently as well as alongside parents and other staff
  • Be a confident driver, happy to work weekends, and committed to building a long‑term relationship with the family

Salary and Working Hours
  • Salary: £45,000 – £70,000 (DOE)
  • Working week: Saturday – Wednesday (flexible depending on family needs)
  • Hours: 07:00 – 15:30 or 11:00 – 19:30 (flexibility required)
  • Days off: Thursday & Friday (negotiable)
  • Accommodation: Beautifully renovated and fully furnished annexe, offering privacy and independence (no bills payable)
  • Driving: Full, clean UK driving licence essential
