Job summary

Home Instead West Exeter & Teignbridge is seeking a compassionate Live-In Care Assistant to support a client in the Newton Abbot area, enabling safe, comfortable living at home and maintaining independence.

You will provide personal care, companionship and practical support, with a strong emphasis on building trust and meaningful relationships. Accommodation is provided in the client’s home, with ongoing training and local team support.

Qualifications

• Has a caring, patient and compassionate nature.
• Ideally has previous care experience or relevant qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Live in the client’s home and provide daily support.
• Assist with personal care such as washing, dressing and toileting.
• Prepare meals and support daily routines.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Support mobility and help the client stay active and independent.
• Light housekeeping to keep the home comfortable and safe.
• Collaborate with the office team and family where appropriate.

Job Description

Live-In Care Assistant – Newton Abbot Area
£928.20 per week | £40 food allowance | £50 travel allowance | One-to-One Care

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Live-In Care Assistant to support a client in the Newton Abbot area, helping them remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own home.

This role is about more than care — it’s about companionship, trust, and providing reassurance so someone can continue living the life they want in the place they love most: their home.

What the Role Involves:

• Living in the client’s home and providing daily support
• Assisting with personal care such as washing, dressing, and toileting
• Preparing meals and supporting with daily routines
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Supporting mobility and helping the client stay active and independent
• Light housekeeping and helping keep the home comfortable and safe
• Working closely with the office team and family where appropriate
