Job summary

GB News is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to maintain the reliability of its broadcast infrastructure across television, radio and digital platforms. You will diagnose faults, provide rapid technical support, and contribute to 24/7 operational readiness.

Working with engineers and vendors, you will support live productions, system upgrades and documentation, requiring proactive problem solving and strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting broadcast, media, production, or IT systems in live environments.
• Strong knowledge of broadcast workflows and production technologies.
• Experience diagnosing hardware, software, network and system issues under time pressure.
• Understanding of IP networking in broadcast environments.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 shift-based operation and on-call arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous operation of broadcast and production systems to ensure on-air services.
• Provide timely technical support and minimise disruption to broadcasts.
• Diagnose, monitor, and troubleshoot real-time hardware, software, and network issues.
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and health checks.
• Support live productions, outside broadcasts, and events.
