An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Solicitor or Barrister in the Council’s Legal Governance Section.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of conducting civil and / or criminal litigation in the County Court and / or Magistrates Court, be able to work on his / her own initiative and give advice on a wide range of legal issues. Knowledge and experience of housing, homelessness, anti-social behaviour, licensing and environment related law is important; however, equally as important is a flexible, “can-do”, attitude and enthusiasm for learning new areas of Local Government law.

The Lead Litigation Lawyer will require a number of years of post qualification experience and the ability to lead a small team.

You will be joining a progressive Section with a good reputation for its service and commitment to staff and prospects for advancement.
