Job summary

KINGSGATE Recruitment Ltd is seeking a motivated Litigation Assistant to join our legal team in Wigan. You will support solicitors and fee earners with a varied caseload and help progress litigation matters.

This role offers the chance to gain experience in a professional legal environment, work with clients and courts, and develop organisation and research skills relevant to litigation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a legal or litigation environment is desirable.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assisting solicitors and fee earners with the management of litigation cases.
• Preparing and drafting legal documents, correspondence and court forms.
• Opening and maintaining client files and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
• Liaising with clients, solicitors, courts, barristers and other third parties.
• Reviewing and organising case documentation and evidence.
• Assisting with the preparation of court bundles and trial documentation.
• Monitoring deadlines and ensuring key dates are recorded and met.
• Conducting legal and factual research when required.
• Providing updates to clients and responding to routine enquiries.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with firm policies, procedures and relevant regulations.
• Providing general administrative support to the litigation team.
