Job summary

A technology company in the United Kingdom is looking for an individual to manage and implement custom Linux servers and applications. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux knowledge, networking skills, and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively within a collaborative team. This role requires a degree in Computer Science and a deep understanding of LAMP stacks. Candidates familiar with Chef Automation and firewall technologies will be preferred.

Key Skills:

• Solid understanding of Linux (the kernel, processes, permissions, filesystem hierarchy, IPtables, SELINUX)
• Networking knowledge of DHCP, DNS, IP addressing
• Understanding Cloud Concepts
• Identifying, resolving and documenting operational issues [Troubleshooting]
• Experience and knowledge of troubleshooting web and application services in a LAMP stack
• Experience with Bind
• Apache
• Understanding implementation of SSL certificates
• MySQL and/or PostgreSQL build and administration
• Comfortable with Bash scripting
• Creating and maintaining system documentation
• Advise of Linux best practices
