Job summary

Greencore is hiring for a warehouse operative on a 4 on/4 off shift (06:00 - 17:10) with pay of £15.98 per hour. You will support a fast-paced team on a UK site, performing line tasks, equipment checks, and basic maintenance while upholding food safety standards.

Training is provided and there are many employee benefits. The role requires English and Maths, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work unsupervised with a right-first-time approach.

Qualifications

• Good level of English and Maths.
• Mechanical literate with ability to understand equipment.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
• Basic understanding of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene.
• Ability to work unsupervised and use a right-first-time mindset.
• Computer literacy for line systems and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver line/area productivity and meet production plan targets.
• Monitor raw materials, processes and environment for food safety standards.
• Check equipment and OEE, highlight trends and issues for reliability.
• Promote health, safety and environmental culture in the department.
• Carry out basic preventative maintenance and maintenance tasks.
• Strip downs and rebuild of manufacturing equipment.
• Provide training to operational staff.
• Assist engineers with breakdowns and basic fault finding.
• Contribute to reducing breakdowns and improving uptime.

What you'll be doing:

Working within an exciting and fast paced environment, you will be a key member of our warehouse team and will ensure the service we provide to our customer is of exceptional quality. The role can be physically demanding with a good amount of pushing, pulling and lifting involved.

Task will involve:

• Deliver line/area productivity and efficiently targets, resolving problems and issues as they arise, produce ingredients or goods in line with the agreed production plan.
• Continuously monitor raw materials/ingredients, all operational processes and the overall production environment to ensure that all activity comply with food safety manufacturing standards
• Monitor the effectiveness of machinery and equipment, through Optimum Equipment Efficiency (OEE), highlighting trends and issues to ensure asset performance is consist of and reliable
• Promote a good health, safety and environmental culture within the department that complies with procedures, corrective actions and completes near miss reporting, to promote a safe working environment.
• First line maintenance and basic Plan Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
• Strip downs and rebuild of manufacturing equipment
• Provide training of operational staff
• Assist engineers with break downs
• Basic fault finding and prevention of breakdowns

What we're looking for

Full training will be provided if successful in this role but are looking for the following knowledge and experience:
