Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

We are seeking an organised and assertive Line Planner to take ownership of the production plan for a dedicated machine line. As the key representative for your product group, you will be responsible for ensuring the assembly line operates efficiently on time, and in line with customer expectations. You'll work cross-functionally to manage change, coordinate activities, and drive continuous improvement.

This role reports directly to the Production Control Manager.

Job Description
  • Own the A-line plan for your machine line, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and delivery targets.
  • Represent your product group in daily meetings such as MOD meeting, New Option meeting, morning production meeting & Pre-firm check meeting.
  • Coordinate activities within the product group to support smooth and efficient production flow.
  • Manage expectations for new options to ensure minimal disruption and maximum efficiency during introduction to the assembly process.
  • Lead modifications that impact your product group with the goal of improving line efficiency and output.
  • Act as the first point of contact for facilitating communication around open slots, sequence approvals, and delivery confirmations.
  • Confirm material availability following specification or sequence changes and inform the Planning Manager of any risks.
  • Resolve preferential origin issues that could impact the build or export process.
  • Approve and communicate sequence changes, escalating to the Planning Manager when required.
  • Ensure customer delivery dates are achievable and upheld through continuous plan monitoring and risk mitigation.
  • Support and validate option costing, providing accurate and timely input to ensure commercial and production alignment.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Advanced IT Skills and the ability to interpret and analyse data effectively.
  • High level of ownership and accountability, with the confidence to make and drive decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of ERP systems (preferably Microsoft AX).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of the integration between the physical world and the ERP system.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience with engineering change management, modification control, or new product introduction.
  • Familiarity with preferential origin rules and how they impact production/export.
  • Experience in a customer‑facing or sales coordination environment.
  • Background in a manufacturing or assembly environment with knowledge of shop floor operations.
  • Knowledge of material planning principles & production structures.
