About the role

As a member of the production team your role will be to deliver daily production targets by following safe systems of work and standard operating procedures. You will lead and motivate a team while ensuring team members have the right skills to carry out their role. You will be responsible for health and safety; product quality and food safety and you will report directly to the Production Manager, keeping them up to date on daily performance.

Main Responsibilities

1. Production Oversight

  • Monitor daily operations on the production line to ensure targets are met.
  • Coordinate workflow and assign tasks to team members.
  • Ensure production schedules are followed and adjusted as needed.

2. Quality Control

  • Ensure products meet quality and safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRCGS).
  • Address and report non-conformities or deviations from standards.

3. Health & Safety Compliance

  • Enforce health and safety regulations (e.g., PPE usage, hygiene protocols).
  • Promote a safety-first culture among team members.

4. Team Management

  • Supervise, train, and support production staff.
  • Handle performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Foster team morale and encourage continuous improvement.

5. Communication & Reporting

  • Liaise with Production Manager, quality assurance, and maintenance teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports (e.g., production output, downtime, incidents).
  • Communicate goals, updates, and changes to the team effectively.

6. Resource Management

  • Ensure availability of raw materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Minimize waste and downtime through efficient planning.
  • Report and escalate equipment issues to maintenance teams.

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Encourage staff to contribute ideas for efficiency and quality gains.

Shift Pattern

4 On 4 Off - 12hrs
