Job summary

Omega Red Group are seeking a Lightning Protection Test Engineer to inspect, test and certify lightning protection and buried earthing systems across commercial, industrial and construction sites. You will use specialist equipment to assess performance, identify defects and provide recommendations to clients.

This field-based role requires independent work, strong safety focus and excellent client communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in lightning protection or related earthing discipline.
• Working knowledge of relevant lightning protection standards and regulations.
• Field-based engineering, testing or inspection experience.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Excellent communication and client relations skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Experience in construction or technical environments.
• Experience with specialist testing equipment and digital reporting.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).

Responsibilities

• Carry out survey, installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of height safety systems.
• Lead on-site projects safely and efficiently.
• Mentor engineers and operatives to develop skills and knowledge.
• Deliver excellent customer service and build client relationships.
• Ensure health and safety compliance through risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Support pre-tender surveys with technical input.
• Produce inspection and testing reports clearly identifying defects.
• Install and commission height safety equipment per standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
