Job summary

Taleez is seeking an experienced Lighting Technician to manage end-to-end lighting for live events, blending creative visuals with technical mastery.

You'll plan, quote and program gear in the warehouse, rig on site, operate lighting desks, and ensure safe teardown and storage. Close collaboration with video/audio crews and strict health & safety adherence are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial AV company or live event production.
• Strong knowledge of moving lights, lighting networks and multi-universe patching.
• Experience with MA Lighting grandMA3 lighting control systems.
• Experience using Depence Visualizer and/or WYSIWYG for lighting design, visualisation and pre-production.
• Working knowledge of CAD for lighting plans and drawings.
• Good understanding of power distribution for live events.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 25 kg and working safely at height.
• Willingness to work unsociable hours and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and quote lighting requirements, including rigging and cable needs.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Lighting Technician to handle our end-to-end lighting requirements to support live events. This role bridges the creative visual impact with technical know-how.

Working with other Project Managers, the role will help plan and quote the lighting requirements together with preparing and programming the equipment in the warehouse. Onsite rigging and operating the equipment together with managing the safe teardown of the systems on site.

The role will also be responsible for the maintenance and safe storage of the equipment in our warehouse.

Core Responsibilities

Working with other inhouse Project Managers, take responsibility for the planning and quoting of the lighting requirements, including rigging and cable requirements, as and when requested

• Plan and prepare/programme the equipment as required, ready for onsite deployment and transport schedules

• When on site manage the Rigging and Setup: Assemble, hang, focus, and cable automated fixtures, LED screens, trusses, and power distribution systems according to agreed production plans.

• When onsite, manage the patching, programming and operation of the lighting control desks as required for the production

• When onsite, manage the setup of the lighting data distribution, including DMX, Art-Net and sACN, and assist with the safe deployment of 3-phase power systems.

• Plan the de-rigging, organisation, packing and loading of lighting and associated equipment, ensuring equipment is handled carefully and returned securely to its flight cases.

• Manage the equipment testing and refurbishment/cleaning process pre put away in the warehouse

• Partner with the video and audio crews to ensure lighting angles do not conflict with acoustic or other setups.

• Always Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety protocols

Position Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a commercial AV company or live event production agency, with experience delivering mid- to large-scale events.

• Strong practical knowledge of professional lighting systems, including moving lights, lighting networks and multi-universe patching.

• Experience with MA Lighting grandMA3 lighting control systems.

• Experience using Depence Visualizer and/or WYSIWYG for lighting design, visualisation and pre-production.

• Working knowledge of CAD for producing and interpreting technical drawings and lighting plans.

• Good understanding of power distribution and its application within live event environments.

• Physically capable of lifting equipment weighing up to 25kg, working safely on ladders and access equipment, and standing for extended periods during long show days.

• Willingness and ability to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, late nights and weekends, with occasional travel as required by events.

• Right to work in the UK required.
