Job description

Our client is a long-established and growing business operating from their purpose-built site at Membury, just off the M4. Providing first-class workshop facilities for car, van, and light commercial servicing and repair, alongside industry-leading roadside breakdown and recovery operations across Wiltshire, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire.

Reason for hiring: With continued business growth and demand for high-quality maintenance services, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Light Vehicle Technician to join our workshop team.

Role overview

You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing customer vehicles and in-house light recovery fleet. This includes diagnostic work, general mechanical repairs, and MOT preparation. The role is varied and rewarding, with steady daytime hours and an excellent working environment. Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (no weekend rota).

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on cars, vans, and light commercials.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Complete job cards, service sheets, and repair notes accurately.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and safe working practices.
  • Liaise with service advisors and customers where needed.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or strong experience in a similar role.
  • Confident diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently.
