Job description

Location: Broughton, Chester (on-site)

Hours: 35 per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am-7pm)

Pay: £28.41/hr PAYE or £38.00/hr Umbrella

Security Clearance: BPSS+ (arranged by Airbus)

About The Role

Are you passionate about safety and engineering excellence? Join our team as a Lifting and Handling Engineer at Airbus in Broughton, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe and compliant lifting operations across our manufacturing site. As part of the Manufacturing Engineering Safety Department, you'll provide expert advice, develop lift plans, and support continuous improvement projects. What You'll Be Doing
  • Offering expert LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) advice and guidance to support day-to-day operations.
  • Creating and updating lift plans and lifting instructions.
  • Acting as the LOLER Appointed Person for abnormality management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conducting risk assessments and method statements to ensure legal compliance.
  • Carrying out LOLER compliance checks and surveillance.
  • Supporting future projects and driving best practice in lifting and handling.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven background and experience in lifting and handling operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of LOLER and BS:7121 standards.
  • Previous experience in roles such as Slinger, Banks-person, Crane Driver, or similar.
  • Ideally, you'll be a Lifting Specialist, Supervisor, or LOLER Coach.
  • Essential: Lifting Appointed Person A62/A61 or equivalent qualification.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice (including BS7121, LOLER, PUWER).
