Job summary

Virgin Active Limited is seeking a Lifeguard to join our Operations Team. The successful candidate will help create a safe, welcoming environment and deliver world-class service to our members across the club.

You will ensure poolside safety, monitor water quality, and perform safety checks, while maintaining cleanliness and adhering to mandatory training and health and safety requirements.

• Lifeguard qualification required and fully registered.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming environment for members and deliver outstanding service.
• Maintain poolside safety and cleanliness to high Virgin Active standards.
• Record safety checks accurately and respond confidently to incidents.
• Monitor water chemistry and treat water as needed.
• Ensure the upkeep of all areas and adhere to health and safety training.

In this role, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for our members, ensuring the highest standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience. You will act as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations, maintaining operational excellence and delivering exceptional service every day.

The Role

• Incorporating a friendly, calm and approachable nature with the ability to act quickly and effectively at all times.
• Ensuring the upmost safety of our members in the pool and spa areas, taking responsibility for your own personal safety and that of others.
• Consistently acting in a safe manner, knowing the importance of completing safety checks and recording them accurately.
• Monitoring water chemical water levels and cleaning the water when appropriate.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of all areas and adhere to the high standards of Virgin Active .
• Responsibility for compliance with all mandatory training and health and safety.
• Fulfilling Duty Shifts when required, therefore having responsibility and accountability during the shift, controlling staffing and facility issues throughout the club.

Who We’re Looking For

• You have a current Lifeguard qualification and be fully registered, with either a IQL National Pool Qualification (RLSS), HABC Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding (RQF) or STA Professional Award for Pool Lifeguard (RQF) qualification.
