Job summary

Ethos is seeking a Life Cycle Assessment Specialist to lead whole life carbon assessments for data centre projects and drive sustainability reporting. You will model impacts with One Click LCA, contribute to LEED/BREEAM certifications, and ensure EU taxonomy compliance.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise design for low carbon performance and deliver clear client-facing reports highlighting opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of proven experience in Life Cycle Assessment / Whole Life Carbon analysis.
  • Strong understanding of LCA methods and reporting for built environment projects.
  • Experience applying EU Taxonomy requirements to project reporting.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Specialist to support the delivery of sustainable, high-performance projects, with a strong focus on the data centre sector. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to whole life carbon assessments, sustainability certifications, and regulatory compliance across a range of projects.


Responsibilities



  • ConductLife Cycle Assessments (LCA) andWhole Life Carbon (WLC) analyses for building projects, particularly data centres


  • UseOne Click LCA software to model, analyse, and report environmental impacts


  • Interpret and applyEU Taxonomy requirements to ensure project compliance and reporting alignment


  • Support delivery of sustainability certifications including:



    • LEED


    • BREEAM




  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to optimise environmental performance from early design stages


  • Prepare high-quality reports, dashboards, and client presentations


  • Advise onlow-carbon design strategies, material selection, and circular economy principles


  • Stay up to date with evolvingEU regulations, standards, and sustainability frameworks


  • Contribute to internal sustainability knowledge and best practices



About You


  • Degree inSustainability, Environmental Engineering, Building Services, Architecture, or a related field


  • 3+ years of proven experience inLife Cycle Assessment / Whole Life Carbon analysis


  • Strong working knowledge ofOne Click LCA (essential)


  • Familiarity withEU Taxonomy and sustainable finance frameworks


  • Experience working withLEED and/or BREEAM certification processes


  • Understanding of construction materials, building systems, and embodied carbon


  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills



Desirable (Highly Preferred)



  • Experience working ondata centre projects


  • Knowledge ofEPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) and carbon databases


  • Familiarity with additional frameworks (e.GRESB, CRREM, Net Zero Carbon standards)


  • Experience integrating LCA into BIM or design workflows
