Job summary

A local government authority in Wales seeks a highly motivated individual for a part-time role in their Licensing Team. Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Licensing Team on a part time basis. This post is designated as “agile”, allowing for a mix of home working and office-based working and the team has a base at the Housing Advice Centre, Church Street, Ebbw Vale.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administration and enforcement support for proper service delivery of licensing functions.
  • Process routine applications for various licences, renewals, registrations and permits.
  • Deal with customers, businesses, elected Councillors and partner agencies.
  • Provide enforcement support, undertake visits and interventions as appropriate.
  • Investigate complaints and provide business advice.
  • Work with partner agencies, including Event Safety Advisory Groups and “Responsible Authorities”, and attend Licensing Committees.
  • Access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement of the role.
Qualifications
  • Experience in administering licensing applications in areas such as the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, hackney carriage and private hire licences, scrap metal, street trading and other general areas of licensing responsibility.
