Overview

Duties Description The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) (Hourly) will serve as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team. The incumbent will function as an admissions coordinator and may be responsible for managing a small counseling caseload.

Responsibilities
  • Interview clients and review medical / psychiatric history, and complete various assessments as part of treatment plan development.
  • Assess individual and family needs, strengths, and limitations.
  • Complete required client and facility admissions documentation, adhering to applicable OASAS procedures and confidentiality regulations.
  • Provide orientation to the clients regarding the nature of the treatment facility, including its programs, activities, policies, and rules.
  • Record significant psychosocial events and / or changes in clinical condition.
  • Determine the individual needs for referral to community-based services.
  • Serve as a resource to other team members regarding social adjustment, discharge service needs, and the effective utilization of community services.
  • May provide individual, group, and family counseling, as well as crisis intervention.
  • May provide clinical consultation and assistance to members of the professional staff and members of the treatment team, under the clinical supervision of a licensed clinical social worker, psychologist, or psychiatrist.
  • Prepare reports and maintain all records as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a license and current registration as a licensed master social worker in New York State.

NOTE : Candidate(s) must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain Medicaid / Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.
