Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking licensed bat ecologists across England to join its Ecology and Biodiversity team. You will deliver bat surveys, licensing, mitigation strategies and BER registrations on major projects across power, mining, and built environment sectors.

The role offers hybrid working, remote options, a full UK driving license preferred, and opportunities for BER accreditation and chartership support within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in bat surveys, licensing and mitigation.
• Hold Natural England Class 2 bat licence or higher and BER eligibility.
• Understanding of UK ecological legislation and policy.
• Willing to travel and work across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of bat surveys including Daytime Walkover, PRA, dusk emergence and related techniques.
• Record and manage survey data using in-house apps and automation tools.
• Complete BER site registrations, EPSL licensing and mitigation works.
• Supervise mitigation works and contribute to technical reports.
• Design bat mitigation and compensation strategies for diverse sites.
