Job summary

Laurus Trust is seeking a Librarian to manage the school library, keeping it welcoming, well-organised and inspiring for pupils and staff. You will run events, clubs and activities to foster a love of reading and support students in choosing books that broaden their literacy and life skills.

You will collaborate with English teachers and other Trust librarians to build a whole-school reading culture and keep the library at the heart of school life.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
• Experience of working with young people of all ages.
• Strong interest in children’s and young adult literature—both classic and contemporary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the school library.
• Promote reading through events, clubs and activities; support students in selecting books.
