St Mary’s Independent School in Colchester seeks a Librarian to lead the daily operation of the School Library, supporting pupils in locating resources and encouraging responsible use of the library environment.

You will work with the Heads of Faculty and English Lead to promote reading and coordinate events across the school, with safeguarding and recruitment checks as part of the process.

St Mary's Independent School is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Librarian.

The Librarian acts as the day-to-day operational lead for the School Library, ensuring it remains an organised, welcoming and effective learning environment. The Librarian supports pupils in the effective use of the library, helping them to locate and access appropriate resources and encouraging purposeful and responsible use of the library environment. This roleworks alongside the Head of Faculty - Languages (Senior School) and English Subject Lead (Lower School) and other colleagues to support whole-school reading promotion, literary events and wider initiatives that foster a culture of reading across the School.

St Mary's is an Independent day school in Colchester, Essex for girls aged 4-16 and with a Kindergarten for children age 2-4.
