LGV Driver - Seasonal Winter / Gritting Duties

Location: Skye Roads

Job Type: Seasonal / Full-time during winter periods

Skye Roads are urgently seeking an experienced LGV Driver for seasonal winter lorry driving and gritting duties, with additional road maintenance and repair tasks during milder periods. This is an exciting outdoor role for a reliable, safety-conscious driver ready to work flexible hours depending on weather conditions.

Typical hours are Monday - Thursday 8 hours per day between 6am and 9pm and usually a 1pm finish on a Friday. However, hours may vary dependent on weather requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate LGV for winter gritting duties
  • Carry out road maintenance and repair tasks during milder periods
  • Work to scheduled duty periods, which may include early starts and evening shifts (6am-9pm)
  • Attend weekend work as required depending on weather conditions
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and operational requirements
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment in good condition
Qualifications & Experience
  • Valid LGV licence
  • CPC accreditation required for early starts
  • Proven experience in LGV driving or similar role
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to health & safety standards
