North Yorkshire Council in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, is recruiting a Refuse Driver. You will operate from the Harrogate depot, cover a large patch, lead in safety and teamwork, and deliver a high standard of service to residents.

The role provides a clear pathway to supervisory or management roles, with support and access to a broad benefits package. Weekend work may be required as part of shifts.

Qualifications

• HGV licence (Category C) and Driver CPC valid.
• Knowledge of safe driving practices and H&S principles.
• Experience operating a large goods vehicle is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate LGV/large goods vehicles up to 32t within the county.
• Supervise small crews in your area where required.
• Ensure safe operation and vehicle maintenance checks.
• Deliver residual, garden, food waste or recyclables to domestic properties.
• Record incidents and report accidents; act as first aid appointed person.
• Possibly undertake loader duties as service needs require.
