Job summary

Veolia in Westminster is hiring an LGV/HGV Driver – Collections to join our fleet serving local communities. You will remove waste and bulky items from domestic and commercial premises, operate Veolia vehicles, and ensure safe, efficient collection routes.

Essential: valid driving licence and Class 2 licence; ability to work solo or with others. Desirable: prior waste experience. We offer 20 days leave, pension, health benefits, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence required.
• Class 2 licence required.
• Ability to work with others or independently.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the removal of waste, bulky items and Sweeper’s sacks from domestic and commercial premises and the Highway.
• Ensure that containers are returned to the collection point, lids replaced, doors and gates closed.
• Ensure that any spillage of waste is cleared at the time of collection to leave the site litter free.
• When entering premises, comply with any site rules and Health & Safety procedures
• Drive and operate any vehicle supplied by Veolia, after receiving the relevant training.
• Comply with all road traffic legislation in relation to your duties including parking restriction, security and weight of loads.
• At the start and end of each shift, ensure vehicle is in good condition and report damages.
• At the end of the shift, ensure the tipper is left empty and tidy.
• Report locations of fly-tipping, graffiti, damaged/missing litter bins and waste containers.
• Ensure all completed work is detailed in the daily worksheet for the Foreman/Manager.
• Maintain courteous and professional relations with the public, clients and colleagues
