Job summary

Selwood Ltd is seeking an experienced Class 1 (C+E) LGV Driver for the Stoke branch. You will safely deliver and collect plant equipment between depots and customer sites while delivering excellent customer service.

Essential: valid C+E Licence with up to 6 points, Digital Tachograph Card, and a CPC/Driver Qualification Card. Nights away may be required. HIAB competence is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in similar industry.
• Must be at least 21 years old for insurance purposes.
• Comply with statutory medical standards for HGV.
• Held Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Holder of Driver Qualification Card and/or CPC Certification.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting plant and equipment across the region.
• Comply with tachograph rules and drivers' hours regulations.
• Perform pre-loading risk visual checks.
• Load/unload and secure equipment, operate HIAB if trained.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and keep vehicle clean.
• Maintain branch paperwork accuracy and signatures.
• Represent Selwood professionally on customer sites.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Class 1 (C+E) LGV Driver to join our team at Stoke Branch. In this role, you'll safely deliver, collect and transport plant equipment between our depots and customer sites while providing excellent customer service.

It is essential that you hold a valid C+E Licence.

Job Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting plant and equipment across the region
• Full compliance with Tachograph operation and driver's hour's legislation.
• Carry out a risk visual assessment prior to loading and unloading activity takes place.
• Loading, unloading and securing equipment safely, including operating HIAB cranes where appropriately trained and licensed.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and maintaining high safety standards
• Vehicle Interior and exterior to be cleaned and swept out weekly so that vehicle is clean and presentable at all times.
• Ensure all items and quantities are matched to Branch paperwork.
• Maintaining excellent customer relationships and representing Selwood professionally on site
• Communicate accurately to your immediate supervisor, work colleagues and customers regarding certain job specifications.
• Obtain signatures when delivering and collecting.
• Following all PPE, health & safety and company procedures
• Supporting installation teams on customer sites when required
• Must be comfortable with required nights away, with nights out in the cab
• Full C+E Class 1 HGV driving licence (no more than 6 points)

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in similar industry
• Aged 21 or over (insurance requirements)
• Compliant with statutory medical standards for HGV and able to climb up onto lorry bed and to ensure secure loading and strapping down of load
• Valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card
• Driver Qualification card and/or Periodic CPC Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• HIAB/Lorry Loader Crane Operators licence
• CPCS Lorry Loader OR CPCS Loading and Securing
• Hook operation experience
• Counter Balance Fork Lift truck licence
• Plant Loader/Securer
