Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking an enthusiastic LGV Driver to join our Transport and Logistics team in West Calder. You will safely operate Class 2 LGV vehicles, deliver concrete, coated asphalt and aggregates to customers or depots, and complete delivery paperwork, all while upholding the company’s high health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • A valid Category C or C+E licence and a current Driver CPC qualification.
  • Proven LGV driving experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of local road networks and route planning.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Hard-working and positive attitude, with willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility for variable hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Genuine interest in construction materials industry and development.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate LGV (Class 2) vehicles in line with UK road laws and company policies.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks and report faults or issues.
  • Load and unload goods using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment.
  • Deliver concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates to customers or depots on time, with accurate paperwork.
  • Maintain communication with the Distribution Department regarding delays, issues, or route changes.
  • Ensure security of the load during transit.
  • Complete delivery logs, timesheets, and digital entries accurately.
  • Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
  • Ensure deliveries comply with legal requirements, prioritising health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Contribute to the team with flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver to join our team at West Calder. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for driving and a keen interest in learning more about the construction materials industry. You will be responsible for ensuring our products are delivered efficiently, in accordance with the law and the best interests of the company and our customers. You will place the highest importance on our sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management. Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate LGV (Class 2) vehicles in accordance with UK road laws and company policies

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A valid Category C or C+E licence and a current Driver CPC qualification
  • Proven experience as an LGV driver preferred
