Job summary

Ocado Logistics is seeking qualified HGV drivers for overnight shifts. You will collect items from Ocado warehouses and transport them to regional sites, with routes up to 12.5 hours daily and potential extra hours as needed. Basic pay starts at £19.20 per hour, with premiums for evenings and Sundays.

Ongoing CPC training and pension contributions are offered. Positions allow 32 hours over 4 days or 40 hours over 5 days, with a formal interview drive and driving assessor to ensure fit.

Qualifications

• Must hold a category C+E driving licence
• Penalty points limited to a maximum of 6
• No driving disqualifications in the past 10 years
• Minimum of 12 months experience on your licence
• Desirable to have at least 6 months LGV experience

Responsibilities

• Collect shopping from state-of-the-art warehouses and take it to regional sites
• Follow defined routes without multi-drops
• Occasionally work additional hours beyond scheduled shifts
• Support overnight delivery operations and ensure goods are distributed on time

Job description

A passion for driving and all things trucks and lorries, along with the following driving licence requirements:
A category C+E driving licence
A maximum of 6 penalty points
No driving disqualifications in the past 10 years
Minimum of 12 months experience on your driving licence
Desirable to have a minimum of 6 months LGV experience

It also is a prerequisite that you are a safe and competent driver with the ability to be flexible on your shift length on a daily basis. As our new state of the art fleet are our pride and joy and we need to know they are in safe hands.

Our HGV Drivers are our unsung heroes and whilst most of us are sleeping they are distributing our products to ensure it's there as and when we need it. We are currently recruiting for overnight drivers. You have the option to work 32 hours over 4 days or 40 hours over 5 days. Our routes are assigned up to 12.5 hours per day and as such you will regularly be expected to carry out additional hours as required.

Day-to-day you will collect shopping from our state-of-the-art warehouses and take it to our smaller regional sites. No multi drops or hidden lanes.

Pay Structure:

This position is lunar paid. This means you will be paid every 4 weeks according to a monthly schedule. Please take this into consideration when applying.

Hourly pay:

• Basic Rate: £19.20
• Evening premium: (18:00-06:00): £2.00
• Sunday Premium: £1.74
• Sunday Evening Premium: (18:00-06:00): £3.94
• Overtime rate Monday to Saturday (Day Shift): £24.00
• Overtime rate evening (18:00-06:00): £26.50
