Job summary

BestStart West Village is seeking an enthusiastic teacher in training to join our supportive, passionate team. Located on the outskirts of Rolleston, our modern, purpose-built centre offers inspiring learning spaces and a strong commitment to helping every child thrive.

This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) within our preschool team, working alongside tamariki aged over 3 years.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Level 7 ECE qualification (Bachelor of Teaching ECE or Graduate Diploma in ECE).
• Understanding of child-led learning and how to support children’s development.
• Knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice.
• Passion for delivering high-quality education and care.

Responsibilities

• Join our preschool team as a teacher in training in a permanent, full-time role.
• Deliver rich, play-based learning experiences that build confidence, creativity, independence and social competence.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support each child’s learning and well-being.
