Job summary

A leading education agency in Greater Manchester is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a temporary full-time role. The ideal candidate will support classroom teaching, assist with Individual Education Plans, and provide reading and writing assistance to students. Candidates should hold a Level 3 qualification or degree, with prior experience working with challenging behaviour and special educational needs. Qualifications

Location: Stretford
Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time
Salary: 100 - 130 per day
Qualifications: Level 3 Teaching Assistant or degree or Team Teach

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing student behaviour
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Offer reading and writing support to students who require additional assistance
  • Support the teacher in maintaining classroom discipline and encouraging positive behaviour
  • Provide 1:1/group interventions
  • Monitor students' progress
Required Qualifications
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or degree, or Team Teach trained
Experience
  • Prior experience as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • Experience working with students with challenging behaviour and SEN
  • Alternation Provision or specialist school experience is required
Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong understanding of young people with behavioural difficulties and SEN
  • Excellent behavioural management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom environment
  • Familiarity with alternative provisions and specialist schools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional qualifications in special educational needs (SEN) support
  • Training in behaviour management techniques
