About the Role
  • Support pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups (SEN includes ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, PMLD).
  • Deliver intervention sessions to small groups of pupils to boost their understanding and progress.
  • Develop an understanding of different needs and learning styles of pupils and work closely with Class Teachers and colleagues.
  • Support across the School at breaktimes and lunchtimes as required.

Pay, Hours and Contract
  • Pay: £90–120 per day.
  • Hours: 08:30–16:00.
  • Contract: Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary contract.
  • Start date: ASAP.
  • Location: Sunderland.
Experience / Qualifications and Requirements
  • QTS, Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or Level 3 Childcare-based Qualification.
  • Experience working with children in schools in the UK.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and rapport with pupils and staff.
  • Resilient, proactive, and positive nature.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced background check (Child Barred List DBS) registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child‑related references that cover the last two years.
