Job summary

Milk Education is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Tadcaster to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant from September 2026. This full-time, long-term role supports children's learning and wellbeing in an inclusive classroom.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 TA qualification and experience in a primary setting, with SEND experience considered desirable. You will work alongside a class teacher, helping pupils overcome barriers and reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in a primary school setting preferred.
• Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to pupils across the classroom, including 1:1 and small group interventions.
• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
• Support children with additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH and Speech and Language needs.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
• Promote positive behaviour through consistent strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Support classroom routines, preparation and organisation of learning resources.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and school staff.
• Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
