Level 3 Teaching Assistant – KS1

Location: Shard End, Birmingham, B35

Daily Rate: £105 - £115 per day

Contract: Long Term to Permanent

Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Commutable from: Castle Bromwich, Hodge Hill, Stechford, Chelmsley Wood, Marston Green, Erdington, Ward End, Coleshill, Water Orton

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring individual to join a welcoming and inclusive KS1 team at a supportive primary school as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant in Shard End, Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners during their crucial early years of education.

Your Day-to-Day
  • Provide classroom and small-group support across Year 1 and Year 2, helping pupils engage in English, phonics and early maths.
  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions to boost progress and confidence in key skills.
  • Offer 1:1 support for pupils who need additional help, including those with mild SEND or learning barriers.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence and teamwork throughout the school day.
  • Support the class teacher with lesson preparation, resources and assessment feedback.
  • Create a warm, safe and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
  • Liaise with teachers, the SENCO and parents to share progress and celebrate achievements.
About You
  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Experience working within a primary school, ideally within KS1.
  • Confident delivering learning activities and supporting the teacher with lesson delivery.
  • Patient, encouraging and able to build strong, positive relationships with children.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge or experience of supporting pupils with SEND, speech and language or social/emotional needs is advantageous but not essential.
