Job summary

Redbourn Primary School is seeking a caring Level 3 Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our friendly team from 4th January 2027. You will work with teachers to support pupils' learning and well-being across mornings, afternoons, and lunchtime activities.

The role involves helping individuals, small groups and whole classes, building positive relationships, and contributing to the wider life of the school. Term-time only and consistent hours support a predictable routine.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Childcare or TA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience of working with children.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children while maintaining boundaries.
• Calm, patient and professional approach with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Support children in learning and development across activities.

Teaching and Learning Assistant (Level 3)

Term Time Only | Redbourn Primary School

Redbourn Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Level 3 Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our friendly team from 4th January 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to support children in their learning and development, working closely with teachers and other professionals to help pupils achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work with individuals, small groups and whole classes, providing both academic and pastoral support. The role also includes supporting children during lunchtime and contributing to the wider life of the school.

Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 7:45am - 3:30pm
• 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 NVQ in Childcare, Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent
• Experience of working with children
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with children whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries
• A calm, patient, flexible and professional approach to working with children and families
