Job summary

A leading equestrian service provider in Kilsby seeks an individual experienced in horse management for a dynamic role. Job description

They have a number of competing showjumping horses, as well as running the stud side of the business and offering competition livery. The yard is beautiful with fantastic facilities. There will be the opportunity to groom at local, national and international shows regularly as well as having receiving support and training in a well varied and exciting role. It is essential that you must be confident around horses and have experience handling young and fit horses; have a positive, hard‑working, can‑do attitude and be able to work harmoniously with other staff.

Responsibilities
  • Daily care and management of competition and stud horses
  • Leading horses to and from the walker, paddocks and stables
  • General yard duties including mucking out, grooming, tack cleaning, feeding and turning out
  • Assisting with handling mare, foals and youngstock
  • Supporting the team at competition and shows when required
  • Maintaining high standards of presentation across the yard and horses
Training

All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day‑to‑day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in‑person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

Requirements
  • GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with horses (preferable in a stud or competition environment)
  • Confident handling fit and young horses
  • Reliable, hardworking and resilient – able to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
  • A strong team player
  • Must have own transport (no on‑site accommodation available)
  • Willing to work flexible hours depending on yard and competition schedules
