Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking a candidate for a full-time fabrication role, offering a permanent position on a 7am–7pm shift pattern with shift premia. The package includes a competitive salary and extensive benefits, with opportunities to grow within a global aerospace business.

You'll work with materials like Titanium, Aluminium and Stainless Steel, performing tasks such as swaging, pipe bending, drilling, and operating fabrication machinery.

Qualifications

• Recognised Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent in fabrication.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and ability to follow SOPs.
• Ability to work in small teams with Team Leaders and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency in operating CNC machinery as listed.

Responsibilities

• Operate relevant fabrication machinery.

Job description

You'll need a recognised level 3 apprenticeship (NVQ/C&G) or equivalent in a relevant fabrication field, along with:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work to standard operating procedures
• Must be able to work in small teams with Team Leaders
• Self-motivated team player with good communication skills
• Ability to operate CNC Machinery (Unison Pipe Bending machines, Power Presses, CNC Drilling & routering)

This is a full-time, permanent position on the following 7am - 7pm shift pattern (which includes 25% shift premium):
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Thursday, Friday
There is opportunity to work night shifts once fully trained which incurs an additional 33% shift premium.

How You'll Contribute

In this role, you'll work with materials including Titanium, Aluminium and Stainless Steel, carrying our a variety of work including:

• Swaging
• Pipe Bending
• Drilling, Reaming & Countersinking
• Operating relevant fabrication machinery

Coming back is easier than you might think. If you previously worked at GKN Aerospace as a Fabricator, there's no interview, just a check of your qualification stamps. • A total package of £57,800 (based on the current Day shift pattern at 25% shift allowance + built in overtime) - Please note shift patterns are subject to change & we are a 24/7 facility.
• Standard starting salary of £36,717 for an initial 12 week training period, followed by £38,220 & additional premiums as above based on business needs.
