Job summary

New Directions Holdings Limited is seeking a Level 3 Qualified Childcare Practitioner for a full-time role at a nursery in Balsall Heath, Central Birmingham. The post is initially a temporary/agency position with a view to a permanent contract with the nursery.

You will work 30-40 hours per week, on a 7am–6:30pm shift pattern, earning £14.24 per hour subject to tax and NI deductions. EYFS framework experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 3, CACHE Level 3, Early Years Educator or equivalent).
• Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
• Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children.
• Plan and implement engaging activities that support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS.
• Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and achievements.
• Act as a key person for a designated group of children, building strong relationships with children and families.
• Support children in developing social, emotional, physical, and intellectual skills.
• Encourage children’s independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children; follow safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and support parent communications as required.
