Job summary

South Wigston High School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our SEND team. The role is term-time only with 230 hours per week across 8:30-15:00 and a permanent contract, starting as soon as possible.

The school values a friendly, supportive environment focused on learner success. You will work closely with teachers to supervise learners, assist in progress reviews and contribute to planning and evaluation of lessons while ensuring safety and welfare at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision and interaction of learners in lessons
• Assist in the assessment and review of learners’ progress and statement review meetings
• Support the teacher in the classroom and use strategies to manage learner behaviour
• Contribute to curriculum planning, evaluation and implementation, alongside and supported by the teacher
• Monitor learners’ achievement, objectives, general care, safety and welfare
• Inspire young people and provide professional and personal development opportunities within a supportive team
