Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming primary school to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant with SEND and SEMH experience on a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, liaising with teachers and the SENCO to promote inclusive learning.

The successful candidate will have primary school experience, strong behaviour management, excellent communication and a genuine passion for helping children achieve their best.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school seeking to appoint a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide high-quality support, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

The role will involve:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom to promote engagement and positive behaviour.
• Assisting with the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities.

• Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, including SEMH needs.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their best.
