Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant in Bury, working full-time in a primary school within a growing trust. The role focuses on supporting teaching and learning across the class and providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs.

You will balance whole-class support with small-group interventions, develop pupil confidence and independence, and work with the class teacher to maintain an inclusive, high-standard learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a primary school setting.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of engaging and effective learning activities.
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning objectives.
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND when required.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Support the class teacher with classroom organisation and resources.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Contribute to the social, emotional and academic development of pupils.

Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Aspire People is working in partnership with a successful and growing Multi Academy Trust in Bury to recruit a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time position within one of its primary schools.

The successful candidate will work within a classroom setting, with the specific year group determined by their strengths, experience and the needs of the school. You will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the class, whilst also providing targeted support to pupils with additional needs where required.

This is a varied role requiring someone who can balance whole-class support with more focused interventions, helping pupils develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold a recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
  • Be confident supporting pupils with a range of abilities
  • Have an understanding of SEND and inclusive classroom practice
  • Be adaptable and able to work across different key stages if required
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to helping every child succeed
