Castle Cary
Full-Time | 37 Hours Per Week
£12.25 per hour
A unique, beautifully designed nursery located on a working dairy farm in Castle Cary is looking for a warm, enthusiastic and committed Nursery Practitioner to join their outstanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a truly special setting with natural light, underfloor heating, outdoor exploration and a fully integrated learning environment for children aged 3 months to 4 years, with school‑aged children returning in holidays.
You will work a 37‑hour week, supporting children across all age groups within a single, open‑plan learning environment. The nursery is fully integrated, with children learning and interacting across areas rather than being separated into traditional rooms. There is a dedicated baby area within the space.
This role suits someone who loves outdoor learning, creativity, independence building and hands‑on experiences such as nature walks, farm exploration and risky play. Practitioners also support weekly swimming sessions, PE sessions, and future woodwork sessions.
The nursery has 58 children on roll, 14 staff, and a culture described as open, friendly, responsive and deeply passionate about delivering the highest-quality early years practice. Staff work collaboratively and value communication, creativity, outdoor learning and independence.
This is an outstanding‑rated nursery, committed to providing varied, stimulating experiences including farm walks, animal involvement, physical development activities and exploration in nature.
The Owner/Manager is highly supportive of professional development. Staff are encouraged to pursue training that aligns with their interests, including upcoming woodwork training, as well as broader CPD opportunities.
