Job summary

Learning Curve Group in Liverpool is seeking a Level 2 Early Years Tutor to join our Adult Skills provision. You will deliver high-quality, classroom-based employability and sector-based work academy programmes to adult learners aiming to progress into Early Years employment.

The role requires recent occupational experience in Early Years/Childcare, passion for adult development, and a commitment to high-quality teaching and safeguarding standards. Site-based with face-to-face delivery.

Our Adult Skills team generally work with adults who are further away from the employment market and support them in gaining a qualification but also boosting their confidence and other soft skills. Our LCG head office is based in County Durham, but our employability provision operates nationally.

Role Overview

Learning Curve Group is seeking an experienced and passionate Level 2 Early Years Tutor to join our Adult Skills provision in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality, classroom-based employability and sector-based work academy programmes to adult learners looking to develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence to progress into employment within the Early Years sector.

This role is site-based and requires the tutor to deliver engaging face-to-face learning sessions that prepare learners for employment opportunities within nurseries, pre-schools, schools, and other childcare settings.

The successful candidate will have recent occupational experience within the Early Years, Childcare, Education, or Family Support sectors, alongside a passion for supporting adults to develop personally and professionally while progressing towards sustained employment.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching, Learning and Assessment
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality face-to-face training sessions across bespoke Early Years and employability programmes.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive, and learner-centred environment that fosters confidence, participation, and achievement.
  • Teach and assess learners across a range of vocational and employability subjects relating to childcare and early years practice.
  • Provide learners with sector-specific knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to work effectively within Early Years settings.
  • Deliver sessions covering child development, professional standards, safeguarding, communication, teamwork, and workplace expectations.
  • Assess learner understanding through a range of formative and summative assessment methods.
  • Provide timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to support learner progression and achievement.
  • Monitor learner attendance, engagement, and progress, implementing appropriate intervention strategies where required.
  • Differentiate learning activities to meet a wide range of learner abilities, learning styles, and support needs.
  • Ensure all teaching, learning, and assessment activities meet organisational quality standards and funding requirements.
Learner Support and Progression
  • Provide regular support, guidance, mentoring, and coaching throughout the learner journey.
  • Encourage learner engagement, resilience, motivation, and commitment to achieving positive outcomes.
  • Support learners in developing employability skills including communication, professionalism, teamwork, problem solving, and confidence.
  • Deliver effective interview preparation and support learners to demonstrate their skills to prospective employers.
  • Assist learners in identifying realistic career goals and progression pathways within Early Years and Childcare.
  • Support learners with job search activities, CV development, application forms, and employment readiness.
  • Liaise with employers and internal teams to support progression into employment opportunities.
  • Promote learner wellbeing and positive outcomes throughout the programme.
Quality and Compliance
  • Complete all learner documentation accurately and within required timescales.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, attendance registers, progress reviews, and achievement data.
  • Ensure all learner evidence is compliant with organisational, funding, and audit requirements.
  • Attend standardisation meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Act upon actions identified through observations, moderation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain high levels of learner retention, achievement, and progression.
  • Ensure compliance with ESFA funding requirements and organisational policies and procedures.
Professional Practice
  • Maintain current industry knowledge and vocational competence within the Early Years and Childcare sector.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, safeguarding requirements, and sector developments.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and share best practice across delivery teams.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support learner success and organisational objectives.
  • Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and learner wellbeing in all aspects of delivery.
  • Adhere to company policies relating to Safeguarding, Prevent, Health & Safety, Data Protection, and Information Security.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Learning Curve Group at all times.
