Job description

Are you a passionate and qualified social worker looking to make a real difference? We have the last few opportunities to join our Long‑Term Conditions teams across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Whether you are experienced or newly qualified, we want you to help us empower adults living with long‑term conditions to live a good life.

Why join us? We take a person‑centred approach, focus on empowering individuals to live the life that matters to them and offer a variety of work that allows you to develop a broad range of skills, including rights‑based practice, court work, safeguarding and making a real difference in people’s lives. Our supportive learning culture means you’ll thrive with help, advice and support from managers and peers through huddles and peer reflection meetings. We also support your career development with a culture of learning, research opportunities, strong links to Bournemouth University and internal colleague transfer offers. We care about your wellbeing by prioritising work‑life balance, regular restorative supervision, wellbeing support and an Employee Assistance Programme.

What you will do: You will support people living with long‑term conditions to live well in the community. Working alongside them, their carers and families, you will understand what matters most and provide the support needed to help them live a safe and independent life. Flexibility is important – we offer full‑time, part‑time and flexible working options within an agile hybrid model that includes home working and flexible office spaces.

  • Diploma in Social Work (DipSW)
  • BSc / BA Social Work (BSc/BASW)
  • Masters in Social Work (MSW)
  • Social Work Degree Apprenticeship (SWDA)
  • Equivalent supportive qualification – we can help with re‑registration for those returning to social work. Applicants must be based in the UK, have the right to work and hold a full UK driving licence, or be able to travel efficiently by public transport.

BCP Council provides services to a diverse community of 400,000 residents and employs more than 5,000 people. Our area includes over 15 miles of world‑renowned coastline. By working with us you will help deliver a vision of a thriving, world‑class, prosperous and inclusive place for generations to come.
