Job summary

A leading staffing firm is seeking a Leisure / Pool Engineer for a high-end residential contract in the Canary Wharf/Greenwich area. The ideal candidate will manage PPM and reactive works on swimming pools and associated facilities. Responsibilities include maintaining pool equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and performing servicing tasks. Applicants should have strong knowledge in pool systems and relevant qualifications. A full UK driving license is required. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Pool Engineer, Leisure Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of pool filtration and water treatment systems.
  • Experience with filter media changes and servicing sauna/steam room equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM on pool systems and related equipment.
  • Perform filter media/sand replacements as necessary.
  • Respond to callouts and complete reactive repairs.

Job description

Leisure / Pool Engineer Salary: £48,000 – £52,000 DOE

Location: Canary Wharf / Greenwich (High-End Residential)

About the Role

We are recruiting a Leisure / Pool Engineer to support a high-end residential contract consisting of seven buildings, six of which are based in the Canary Wharf/Greenwich area and one in South West London. You will carry out PPM, reactive works, and specialist servicing on swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, and associated plant equipment across premium residential developments.

  • Salary: £48–52k (depending on experience)
  • Hours: 07:30–17:00 Mon–Thurs, 07:30–16:00 Fridays
  • £160 per month travel allowance
  • 24 days holiday (excluding bank holidays)

Key Duties
  • Carry out PPM on pool plant, filtration systems, circulation pumps, and heating equipment
  • Perform filter media/sand replacements
  • Service and maintain UV disinfection panels
  • Service and repair sauna and steam room equipment
  • Respond to in-hours callouts and complete reactive repairs
  • Inspect plant rooms and ensure compliance with safety and water hygiene standards
  • Record all maintenance activities accurately
Requirements
  • Experience as a Pool Engineer, Leisure Engineer or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of pool plant, filtration, and water treatment systems
  • Experience with filter media changes, UV systems, sauna/steam room servicing
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing or equivalent (preferred)
  • Pool Plant Operator Certificate (desirable)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Full UK driving licence
